Celebration of James Aaron’s Life will be held at 10:30A.M. Monday October 30, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00P.M. Sunday October 29, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Oblong, IL.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the James Aaron Griffin Memorial Fund C/O Pulliam Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the church or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

James Aaron “Jim” Griffin, 32, of Oblong, IL passed away on Monday October 23, 2017 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.

James Aaron was born in Robinson, IL on July 27, 1985 to John Alan and Joyce Ellen (Wampler) Griffin. On February 4, 2012 he married Myra Lynn (Hires) Griffin who survives.

James Aaron worked for CCI Ready Mix in Newton, IL. He delivered concrete for all kinds of construction, including bridges being built on I-70 and concrete for the Berlin Church. He was a member of the Potter’s House Ministry in Newton, IL where he was involved in A.W.A.N.A. (children’s ministry). James Aaron loved to fish, do woodworking, and anything else that involved working with his hands, but most of all he loved people, especially his family.

James Aaron is survived by his wife Myra Lynn Griffin, Oblong, IL; daughter Rebecca Lynn “Becca” Griffin, Oblong; parents John and Joyce Griffin, Willow Hill, Il; two brothers: Joseph Alan Griffin, Willow Hill, IL; Jacob Andrew and Maricar Griffin , Okinawa, Japan; one sister and brother-in-law Jessica Ellen and Ken Burgard, Downs, IL and sister-in-law Jennifer Griffin, Nashville, TN; father-in-law & mother-in-law Michael & Sandy Hires, Willow Hill, IL; sisters-in-law Sara Hires, Willow Hill, IL; Kassie & KJ Reynolds, Troy, MO; brother-in-law Scott Hires & Amy Gifford, Oblong, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

James Aaron was preceded in death by his brother John Adam “Corndog” Griffin, grandparents Lloyd and Martha Wampler, two uncles David and Michael Griffin and three premature infants.
